DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Aug. 7, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Resolution Portfolio Management & Oversight LLC ("RPM"), a boutique firm comprised of attorneys, underwriters, appraisers and other highly skilled mortgage banking professionals who specialize in mortgage repurchase/buyback defense, recently obtained 10 rescissions of GSE repurchase demands on behalf of a major Wall Street bank.
"We saved our client nearly $1 million," said Andrew Henschel, RPM's executive vice president. "This type of success can only be achieved by the type of out-of-the-box thinking typified by our mortgage professionals, who utilize our proprietary FILEnetics™ process to defend against buyback demands from the GSEs and other third-party investors."
RPM's proprietary FILEnetics process allows the firm to analyze a loan file, compile all necessary evidence and then prepare a formal rebuttal for bank submission. RPM has successfully defended against repurchase demands for over five years and has represented some of the largest institutions in the nation. All claims are handled on a contingency basis, completely aligning the interests of RPM and its clients.
"It's critical to respond to mortgage repurchase demands immediately," said Henschel. "With the GSEs now reviewing files from as far back as 2002, and their new, shorter deadlines, it's become increasingly difficult to track down the documentation or other evidence needed to defend the case. Every minute counts."
One recent case successfully handled by RPM involved a buyback demand issued for a missing appraisal from 2002. "We were given just five days to recover the document," Henschel said. "Our entire team was re-assigned to this case, and we were able to obtain the document, leading to a rescission."
RPM welcomes inquiries from financial institutions fighting mortgage repurchase demands. "Don't write one more check to a GSE or other third-party investor without giving us an opportunity to review your files," said Henschel. "We work strictly on a contingency basis, so you have nothing to lose."
